Archive film from the BBC series which was broadcast during the late 1950s and early 1960s featuring the railway scene as it was at the time with emphasis on lines about to be closed and locomotives that were soon to be withdrawn. This programme looks at 1960 and includes: two 'Dukedogs' to Barmouth; a T9 to Tavistock; a visit to Perth shed; the Cromford & High Peak line; visits to Newcastle-upon-Tyne and York; the repainting of ex-GNSR 'Gordon Highlander'. Previously issued in video format.
