Aircraft ‘graveyards’ are always of interest to aviation enthusiasts and modellers. Pictures taken in such locations can be very informative and provide close-up views of camouflage schemes and markings.
Such photographs sometimes reveal new information to the enthusiast or modeller or serve to confound previous theories. Where possible, the publishers aim to include before and after pictures of the aircraft featured showing it in service as well as in its ‘graveyard’ condition. Some of these photos in this book were taken by advancing Allied troops in North Africa and Europe from 1942 onwards. Others feature aircraft shot down over British soil, particularly during the Battle of Britain. Many come from the period following the defeat of the Third Reich.
